How it all began
We met at secondary school when we were eleven years old. After a change of form groups (tactically from Ag, perhaps), we found ourselves in the same class and, over time, became friends.
There were a few early chapters along the way, including a brief moment at thirteen, followed by a year where we remained close friends and stayed very much part of each other’s lives. By the summer of 2015, we found our way back to each other properly, and we’ve been together ever since. Even though Joe’s flirting methods included launching a rugby ball across the corridor at Ag’s head…smooth. Very smooth.
As we’ve grown up, we’ve done most things side by side. We moved across the world together, went to university together to study physiotherapy, and eventually settled in Sheffield, which we now call home. Joe has continued to play rugby throughout, while Ag has fully embraced life as a long-standing WAG, thanks to the help from fellow rugby-widows. Over the years, our relationship has been shaped by shared experiences, steady support, and the simple comfort of knowing we’re on the same team.
Somewhere along the way, Luna joined us and very quickly made herself the centre of everything. With endless energy, a lot of opinions, and a very clear favourite- Joe. Despite Ag’s best efforts, Luna’s loyalty firmly lies with him, particularly when rugby is involved. She’s rarely missed a match, is always happiest surrounded by the boys, and has an uncanny talent for shameless flirting from the sidelines (wonder where she gets it from). A firm favourite amongst our friends, life with Luna is busy, muddy, and completely wonderful- and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We’ve been incredibly lucky to be surrounded by wonderful friends and family who have supported us through every stage- from school years to student life, from moving abroad to settling at home. It means more to us than we can say that so many of you are here to celebrate with us, and especially that you’ve travelled such a long way to do so!
We’re very excited to be legally married in the beautiful parish of Edensor, a place that feels especially meaningful to us both. Having grown up in Derbyshire, it feels right to begin this next chapter there.
Beyond that, we are so looking forward to celebrating our wedding in Italy. It’s a place that has become incredibly special to us both; romantic, full of character, and the perfect setting to bring together the people we love most. We cannot wait to share it all with you.
