The Italian Celebration

Friday 3ʳᵈ – Monday 6ᵗʰ July 2026
Borgo Siliano, Città della Pieve, Umbria

We can’t wait to welcome you to Italy for a long weekend of sunshine, food, wine, and celebration! Borgo Siliano is a beautiful family-run hamlet surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and rolling Umbrian hills. Over the weekend we’ll be hosting a series of events to celebrate together.

  • FRIDAY 3rd - Welcome Dinner

    Benvenuti in Italia!
We’ll gather at Borgo Siliano to kick off the weekend and welcome everyone as they arrive in Italy. Check-in at the venue is available from 3:00 pm, giving plenty of time to settle in, explore the grounds, and relax after travelling.

Dinner will be informal and very Italian - a pizza party served outdoors, with wine, conversation, and plenty of time to catch up. An easy start to the weekend, with no speeches or schedules to worry about. Just good food, familiar faces, and the chance to ease into the days ahead.

A gentle, joyful start to the weekend, and the perfect way to begin the celebrations.

  • SATURDAY 4th - Wedding Day

    Il nostro matrimonio.
As we’re all staying together at Borgo Siliano for the weekend, Saturday will be a relaxed day spent enjoying the surroundings, taking things slowly, and getting ready together.

The ceremony will take place in the afternoon, timed to make the most of the light and the cooler part of the day. After the ceremony, we’ll move straight into aperitivo drinks and a generous antipasti buffet, before sitting down together for a traditional Italian meal.

The evening will unfold naturally with cake, drinks, and dancing late into the night - all in one beautiful setting, with no need to travel anywhere else. Bliss.

  • SUNDAY 5th - Pool Party

    Dolce far niente.
After the celebrations of the day before, Sunday is all about slowing things down and spending time together.

We’ll gather by the pool and pine forest for a relaxed brunch, served buffet-style, with plenty of coffee, local flavours, and time to recover at your own pace. There’ll be no formal plans - just swimming, lounging in the sun, chatting, and enjoying one last full day together in the Italian sunshine.

Whether you’re feeling energetic or taking things gently, Sunday is designed to be easy, informal, and a chance to unwind before the weekend comes to a close.

  • MONDAY 6th - Departure

    Arrivederci!
Monday morning is a relaxed farewell, with one final breakfast together before it’s time to say goodbye.

For those heading home, this is when departures begin - and for anyone continuing their travels, we hope this is just the start of a longer Italian adventure. Thank you for sharing such a special weekend with us; it has meant more than we can say.

Getting there

Borgo Siliano is in the Umbrian countryside just outside Città della Pieve, on the border of Tuscany. The venue is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills, but it’s still well connected by air and rail.

Airports

Rome - Fiumicino & Ciampino (2.5 hours by car)

  • Largest selection of international flights. Direct trains from Rome Termini to Chiusi-Chianciano Terme station (nearest to Borgo Siliano).

Florence - Peretola (1.5 hours by car)

  • A great option with many European connections. Car hire is straightforward.

Perugia – San Francesco d’Assisi Airport (~1 hour by car)

  • Closest airport to the venue. Small and easy to navigate. Direct flights from London, plus other European cities.

Train

The nearest train station to the venue, is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme (Chiusi Scalo), approximately 8 minutes from Borgo Siliano by taxi or car.

Fast, frequent trains link with:

  • Rome (1.5 hours)

  • Florence (1.5 hours)

  • Milan (3.5 hours)

Tip! We have found that flying into Rome or Florence and taking a train to Chiusi is the easiest and most cost-effective option.

Car Hire

The Umbrian countryside is stunning, but also very rural - which means planning your transport in advance will make things much easier. While it isn’t essential, we do recommend hiring a car for part or all of your trip. When we visited Borgo Siliano ourselves, the trickiest part was the short journey from Chiusi station to the venue!

All the major rental companies operate out of Rome, Florence, and Perugia airports, and we can also share details of a reliable local hire company if you’d prefer. Having a car will give you freedom to explore nearby vineyards, hill towns, and Lake Trasimeno at your own pace.

Taxis and Transfers

Taxis are available from Chiusi station, but they must be pre-booked and can be quite expensive, even for short trips. To make things easier, we’ll share details of trusted local drivers and may also look into group transfer options for those interested.

As the date approaches, we’ll also explore the possibility of a simple “shuttle system”, kindly using those of you who hire cars, to help ferry guests between Chiusi station and Borgo Siliano. This would hopefully keep things both hassle-free and cost-effective.

Staying at Borgo Siliano

We are so excited that everyone will be staying together at Borgo Siliano, our wedding venue and home for the weekend. Nestled in the Umbrian hills just outside Città della Pieve, Borgo Siliano is a family-run hamlet surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and 28 hectares of unspoiled countryside. It’s a truly magical place - peaceful, private, and authentically Italian.

During the weekend, we’ll have exclusive use of the grounds and facilities: a swimming pool, a pine forest where brunch will be served, a tennis court, and plenty of shaded spaces to relax. All of us will be staying together on-site in apartments and suites, with breakfast provided each morning and every meal across the weekend catered with authentic, locally sourced Umbrian food and wine. It’s a magical setting, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Food, Glorious Food!

We’ve done our best to make sure you’ll be well-fed and well-watered throughout the weekend, so you can simply relax and enjoy yourselves without worrying about meals.

Friday – Pizza Party
We’ll kick things off with a relaxed welcome dinner - an endless pizza party under the lights, with plenty of wine and good company.

Saturday – Wedding Day

Breakfast is provided each morning, with a delicious variety of pastries, fruit juice and good coffee.

After the ceremony in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a traditional Italian antipasti feast, followed by a full three-course wedding meal, and of course a wedding cake. Each person will receive some drinks (wine, prosecco, limoncello, soft drinks etc) during this time, but there is a well-stocked bar open all weekend for those who would like some more!

In the evening, we’ve also arranged a three-hour open cocktail bar to keep the celebrations flowing.

Sunday – Brunch & Pool Party

Breakfast will be served again in the morning.

Later in the morning, join us for a leisurely poolside brunch in the pine forest with Umbrian specialities, salads, pizza, and plenty of fresh drinks.

Monday – Farewell Breakfast
Before departures, a final relaxed breakfast will be served.

While most meals and drinks are covered, there are a couple of times you may want to purchase additional food:

  • Lunches on Saturday and Sunday → light bites such as paninis, sandwiches, and snacks will be available to buy on-site during the day if you’re peckish between meals.

  • Sunday Evening Dinner → after the brunch, food will not be included that evening. Closer to the time, we’ll look at arranging either a BBQ or a sit-down dinner for those who’d like to join, but this will be paid for separately.

Extending your Trip

If you’re making a holiday of it (and we hope you do!), there’s so much to see and do nearby:

  • Città della Pieve – a medieval gem with winding streets, charming piazzas, and colourful flower displays in the summer. Enjoy a spritz in the main square or explore the local markets.

  • Tuscan Wine Towns – Montepulciano, Montalcino, and Chianti are all within easy reach for wine tasting and stunning views.

  • Lake Trasimeno – Umbria’s largest lake, just 30 minutes away. Perfect for a boat trip, swimming, or lakeside dining.

  • Perugia & Assisi – historic Umbrian towns with incredible architecture, art, and food.

  • Florence & Rome – if you’re flying in/out, we definitely recommend adding a couple of nights to explore Italy’s most iconic cities.
